Office of Distance Education and Online Learning (ODEOL)

Tuskegee University (TU) is committed to offering a high-quality online education program that adheres to the standards set forth by SACSCOC regarding electronically offered programs. To this end, TU established the Office of Distance Education and Online Learning (ODEOL) to ensure online education is delivered systematically and effectively. ODEOL provides resources and assistance for faculty, support services for online students, maximizes use of University resources, and ensures consistent policies and procedures for faculty and students.

The University recognizes that today’s students enter with high expectations for technology in learning. Rapid advancements will continue to create new approaches to distance education. Tuskegee is committed to ensuring that programs and courses offered online are as academically rigorous as on-campus offerings. Both on-campus and online programs are designed to create deep and lasting learning experiences.

ODEOL, consisting of administrative, academic, and technological personnel, coordinates the scheduling, infrastructure, and delivery of distance learning courses and works closely with academic departments to ensure quality. Its primary focus includes designing best practices, providing eLearning training for faculty, students, and staff, offering technical assistance, and providing information on eLearning issues.
